Ashland City, Tennessee – AO Smith has been recognized at the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Awards, which recognizes the annual achievements of the world's best manufacturers and industrial and graphic designers for their pursuit of exceptional design. The Customizable Premium Condensate Gas Tankless Water Heater with X3 Scale Prevention Technology and the Voltex 120V Plug-in Heat Pump (HPWH) Heat Heater won both the Building and Architectural Awards categories. The Chicago Athenaeum Museum received a record number of submissions for this year's competition, with the world's leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design companies from over 55 countries being the best consumer designs and technology.

The Voltex 120V model can be connected directly to a common circuit wall outlet for a simplified installation process. Top water connections and a zero clearance design support easy installation for contractors and allow the device to be installed in various applications. The Voltex 120V unit is also Energy Star® certified and qualifies for many federal, state and local incentives.
