Several recent contracts for offshore ships, equipment and new buildings

The Penta-Ozean construction (POC) ordered from Huisman a 5,000 mt crane and monopilia dismantling system of 5,000 MT.

The handling system includes a movement -compensated stacking gripper.

This equipment was developed for a new heavy ship for the Japanese offshore wind sector under cooperation with POC and Ulstein.

According to Huisman, the active HEAVE-compensated, book-strudeled crane has a double-lede and a universal quick connection that enables quick and safe changes in tools.

Other characteristics are a compact tail swing that enables the deck room optimization, no counterweight, a complete revolution and an in-house technical SLEW warehouse.

The pile gripper was developed for the installation of monopilies with a large diameter over the U-shaped rear of the ship. Monopile are kept along the ship. The emerging system enables direct handling from storage to installation.

In addition, Seatrium from POC was awarded a contract for the implementation of engineering, procurement and construction for a 5,000-ton project for the Japanese offshore wind market for the implementation of 5,000 tons of revolving high-performance ships.

This will be the fifth and largest ship that is added to the POC fleet, which, according to the Seatrium POC, enables larger wind turbine projects in offshore wind construction.
