The Lyon College breaks the ground for Bad Boy Stadium | College / professionals

Batesville – Lyon College opened the foundation for the first home game of the 2025 team on September 13 on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Bad Boy Stadium, the future home of the Scots football.

“This is a historical day for Lyon College,” said President Dr. Melissa Taverner. “The Bad Boy Stadium will not only improve our football program, but also bring students, alumni and the community together in a common space of pride and tradition.”

The first phase of the stadium includes a field of regulation, a press box, seats for 600 fans, a digital scoreboard, concessions and toilet facilities. The facility was developed as a turntable for campus and community events and will include modern amenities and sustainable building practices.

The project is financed by significant community and corporate partnerships. Bad Boy Mowers has secured the name rights for the stadium, while Atlas Asphalt/White River materials name the field.

Additional important contributions come from the Bank of Cave City, First Community Bank and the dealer and the planters. The local company Farco will monitor construction.

The 2.5 million dollar project has so far collected 1.5 million US dollars, whereby the donation campaigns are continuously collecting. The future plans include extended seats, visitor sites, a committed changing room for visiting teams and a Grand Entry Plaza for the match day and community events.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity that made it possible today,” said Dr. David Hutchison, Vice President for Progress. “There is still the opportunity to be part of this historical project, and we invite others to help ourselves to bring this vision to life.”
