Amherst-Langmedia, the online collection of learning resources through the five college consortium, which focus on less and less taught languages, has a new website. The sanient website is financed by a subsidy of the Davis Educational Foundation and offers free, high -quality language learning tools in dozens of less learned languages.
For example, someone who wants to learn a language from Ghana, watch a video in two people, order the fish in a market in the city of Accra and follow the Twi and English transcripts. Or a student of URDU can access 60 detailed study leaders developed for self -directed learning.
Thousands of online resources support the study of 46 languages via Langmedia, which are now much easier to navigate on the website. Further new resources will be added in the coming months, including the curricula in 10 additional languages.

Langmedia was originally developed in the 1990s to offer videos, audio recordings and other resources to support independent language learning. It has become an important instrument of the Five College Center for World Languages who teaches hundreds of students from Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts every year.

The Ellsberg Initiative for Peace and Democracy is inspired by the life and inheritance of Daniel Ellsberg (1931-2023), the legendary whistleblower who published the Pentagon papers in the press and publicly in 1971. They are archived at the Robert S. Cox Special Collections and University Archives Research Center, which is known for its world -famous participations, which actism for peace, democracy and social justice.

Hadley – The Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association, Hadley's Insurance Providers, presented the city a risk management award for the commitment to security at the workplace and compliance with norms for security and health administration (OSHA).
The award was awarded at Connect 351 during the annual business meeting of Miia on January 25th in Boston.
Miia praised Hadley for consistent compliance with compliance with the Labor standards of Massachusetts and the Osha guidelines. Hadleys led by employees meet regularly to investigate important concerns and implement strategies for reducing risks in connection with property and professional liability. In addition, the city shows its commitment to the safety of employees through security training programs and organized several regional Miia training courses for other communities.
