According to the BMI, the United Arab Emirates (VAE) are expected to maintain a trade relationship of medical devices with Iran despite the latest US sanctions.
On February 4, US President Donald Trump signed an executive regulation entitled “Restoration of maximum pressure on Iran”. The effects of the arrangement on the trade in medical equipment are still unclear, but in previous sanctions the VAE makes it easier to re -export Iran.
It is also expected that the VAE will expand its trade in the trade in medical equipment with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the nearby markets in the Middle East.
Currently, three GCC countries and two other nations from the Middle East are among the five top 5 medical devices from the VOE of the United Arab Emirates.
“A close geographical proximity means that the trading costs can be relatively low and offer an advantage over imports of locations such as India or mainland china,” the report says.
