“We have three large submission systems with which we can create drawings, and people gather when we work on a project. We have stands on which we can put together or sit down and although I have an office I still like to go out here and sit at one of these stands, ”he said. “It only enables me to be closer to the rest of the team when we work on a project. It is a great space to work together and stay involved with the entire team. “

The company organized an open house last week so that the community can determine where the company will work on its various projects.

Carly Chapman, director of the interior of ZMM and Lead Designer for the project, approved Krason that the collaboration is the key.

“I think that the joint effort for us is that we make a really coherent design,” said Chapman.

Krason said they were inspired to design the new studio because they were done for the development of Remington. He said that they worked on a Cube farm before the project and did not allow much cooperation.

He said, while the cooperation was important, they also wanted to create a room in which what the company has to offer.

“You know a lot of rectangular workstations, all gray, it was not very inspiring and it wasn't very collaborative,” said Krason. “And because we have architects, engineers and interior designers in the house. We believe that this cooperation needs to produce really great product and great projects for our customers, and we thought it was time to create a work area that really reflected what the company wanted to deliver. “”

He said the design process took about six months, while the actual building only lasted about two months.

Chapman said that they have made improvements to the lighting, the work stations where the person wants to stand, press a button and raise or lower the desk, they enter little Ottomans if someone wants to sit with another designer they can They have collaborative constant areas and technology is integrated throughout the studio.

She said they had made sure that everything they had in the studio.

“Everything we have, we wanted it to work for us so that we can put the work in the first place,” said Chapman.

While it will help with joint efforts, Krason hopes that the new studio with the company will help recruit and stay with designers.

“You know another reason why we are very happy that we will help ourselves to help ZMM, to help, recruit and to keep the best design talent in the region,” he said. “We think when people see this space in which they work, we hope that they inspire them to work here so that we can continue to deliver great projects for our customers.”

Chapman said that the collaboration was better, but also morality between the designers.

“It increased the office itself just because people were excited to be here of freedom that this space is open and there are no limits,” she said.

Krason said that this would not have been possible without the support they had received from the community and the city.

“It's great to have this business here in Charleston. We have not been more than one block away for 66 years, and we are very grateful for the support of the community and only because of the chances that Charleston and the state of West Virginia gave us that we can cut this band ” , he said.

The studio is around 222 Lee Street West in Charleston.
