A coast restaurant for Balis Intaaya retreat
Drawing from the organic form of a mussel shell completes Pablo Luna Studio a sculptural restaurant As the key feature of the Intaaya retreat in Bali. The design -oriented place is on the cliffs of Diamond Beach, on Indonesia's Island by Nusa Penida. With his expression Roof And bamboo The building structure illustrates the architectural reaction of the studio to its natural environment, opens up in the large area in the coastal landscape and considers a strong commitment to sustainability. Each aspect of the design and construction process reflects a focus on minimizing the environmental impact, with the focus on using materials from the region and adapting the building to the site.
The design team demonstrates its commitment to environmental responsibility with the restaurant project IM Center of the project is self-sufficiency. The Intaaya retreat is completely self-sufficient in water, with a deep fountain being used and containing a comprehensive rainwater collection system. It also includes efficient water devices and landscape design with low irrigation to reduce general water consumption. A cooperation with the Biosphere Foundation led to wastewater gardens that treat wastewater on site and reuse them for garden irrigation. The studio's sustainable construction plan ensured that the contraception of pollution, erosion control and the effective waste management during the entire construction process. Solarphotovoltaic panels meet a significant part of the energy requirement and further reduce the ecological footprint of the retreat.

Pablo Luna Studio supports his island context
With the design of his Shell restaurant at Bali's Intaaya RetreatThe Architect Let yourself be inspired directly from the surrounding ocean and sea life in the Pablo Luna Studio. The concept reflects the shapes of sea shells and the fluidity of waves, which leads to an organic structure that feels both protectively and inviting. The curved bamboo roof reflects the shape of a shell, while thirteen bamboo binders form the structural backbone of the building. The alternating heights of these trusses contribute to the dynamic visual attraction of the roof. The roof supplemented by hand-woven bamboo tissue and wood shingles and retains the natural materiality that defines the entire design.
The design of the Shell restaurant prioritizes both aesthetics and functionality. On the front of the building, the bamboo binders stretch outwards and are worn by steel columns and tree -like columns made of paired bamboo poles. While this series of columns offers the necessary structural support, it further enables the natural light into the room. The structure gradually expands in vertical and horizontal directions when it approaches the front, which leads a feeling of openness and leads visitors through the room.

A rhythmic, flexible structure
The bamboo travers of the Shell Restaurant enable an open and flexible interior layout that Pablo Luna Studio ensures that it is free of intermediate support. This design selection optimizes the space for functions and at the same time promotes interaction between the visitors and the surrounding natural environment. The tree -like columns, which are distributed along the front of the restaurant, form a rhythmic architectural pattern that connects the structure with its natural environment. This thoughtful design reflects the broader principles of the Intaaya retreat, in which sustainable materials and innovative architectural strategies work together to harmonize the built environment with the natural landscape.
The Pablo Luna Studio was directed by the vision of combining people with the natural world. ''Our inspiration for the creation of this restaurant in Nusa Penida comes from the majestic giant clips'The studio finds that inspiration for the project is reflected. ''The crooked exoskeleton of this remarkable creature with its strong and rigid external covering acts both as a defense mechanism against predators and as a safe anchor for his muscles and organs. It essentially serves the double purpose of protection and support. Our vision consisted of seamless people with the hug of the ocean, the blurring and the profound compounds that bind us all of us.
