Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. was selected as a CM-GC for the I-55 bridge replacement project over the Mississippi.

In July 2024, the U.S. Transport Ministry granted $ 394 million from the reconstruction infrastructure with sustainability and equity subsidy program for the cost of replacing the I-55 bridge over the Mississippi. In addition to this grant, the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) each obliged up to 200 million US dollars to have a joint effort to finance this bridge replacement.

“This signals another big step in the effort to replace the aging interstate 55 bridge that connects Arkansas and Tennessee,” said Jared D. Wiley, director of Ardot. “The new bridge will enable more capacity and at the same time improve safety and mobility for all drivers and passenger.”

Wiley appreciates the importance of the partnership and understands what it means for both Arkansas and Tennessee.

“The freight goods along this highway are of crucial importance for the nation. None of this would be possible if the US Transport Ministry's scholarship and the support of our elected officials do not for the grants, ”said Wiley. “Ardot is looking forward to the continued partnership with our friends at TDot, who were the leading force behind the grant application.”
