Lafargeholcim Bangladesh and Cuet organize the national concrete festival to make yourself sustainable

A two -day national specific festival recently took place at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) to ignite innovation and to promote sustainability in the construction sector.

The festival was organized by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), a Cuet student chapter, that provided future engineers an appealing platform in order to present their academic knowledge, creativity and technical skills in real challenges.

Lafargeholcim Bangladesch PLC, one of the leading company provider companies of the building materials in the country, has teamed up in this pioneering initiative with Cuet and increases his commitment to embedding sustainability in the way of thinking tomorrow's construction professionals.

The festival contained a number of competitive events, including specialist creation, mortar processing, sustainable concrete solutions and a photography competition. These activities encouraged the participants to merge the theory with practice and to improve their ingenuity and their technical skills.

A separate technical seminar added to the Festival, where Fakhruddin Md. Khan, Head of Technical Services at Lafargeholcim Bangladesh, provided an informative keynote for innovative construction solutions.

He worked on the company's Netto -Null Aggy and emphasized the critical role of the reduction in CO₂ for a more environmentally friendly future.

In his final comments, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, underlined the importance of a sustainable construction for Bangladesh.

He called for improved innovation in building materials and asked the students to demonstrate their talents on global platforms.

Six teams and three people were recognized for their outstanding performance, who received awards and awards from the Vice Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Aysha Akter, head of the cuet department for civil engineering; Prof. Dr. GM Sadiqul Islam, faculty consultant from ACI Student Chapter-Cuet; Former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jahangir Alam; and Fakhruddin Md. Khan von Lafargeholcim Bangladesh were present during the award ceremony.
