New -Delhi [India]May 4 (Ani): President Droupadi Murmu welcomed the Angolan President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourco in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday and thanked himself for his solidarity and conviction of the latest terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kasmir.

In her welcome speech, President Murmu said: “I am very happy to welcome President Joao Lourco of Angola and his delegation to Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Lourco is a historical occasion on his first state visit, since this has been the first high -ranking visit between us in the past four decades. In the two countries, the two countries will be celebrated in the countries.

In her comments, President Murmu emphasized that the terrorist attack in Pahangam showed that the international community has to take concrete steps to prevent terrorism.

“I would like to thank you on behalf of the government and the people of India for the strong support that you have expressed after the terrorist terrorist attack in Pahangam, Jammu and Kashmir. This incident has once again shown that the international community has to take concrete steps to prevent terrorism and those who promote it,” she said.

President Murmu also recognized Angola's role in promoting peace on the African continent and said: “We appreciate the role that you as an intermediary played in the ongoing conflicts in the Middle and West Africa region. India insists on her engagement for the promotion of peace and security on the African continent.”

Previously, Angola President Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourco, who is a state visit in India, had sentenced the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and expressed his solidarity with the people of India.

“Angola was one of the first to react immediately after the sad events in the Kashmir region, where human life fell victim to. In due course, we recognized the Indian authorities of our feelings of concern for the Indian people and their families. Since it was an act of terrorism and Angola obviously distributed every terrorism, the Angolan President distributed.
