State project – roundabout development

Silk Road / North Bennington RD / Bennington College / Matteson RD

From Monday, May 19th to Thursday, May 22nd, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Friday, May 23, between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., single -track closures with changing disposable traffic on the Vermont Route 67a (VT 67A) will appear near Silk Road. Motorists should expect unequal gravel surfaces within the project boundaries, and it is recommended to slow down and use them carefully.

The most important construction activities are expected this spring with a forecast completion date of summer 2026. The first focus of the contractor is on the construction of all lane approaches, including drainage and rainwater infrastructure, excavation, underside, basic courses, bike path, sidewalk, curb, street lighting and base as well as monatary driving.

The VT 67a Southern Roadway approach is first built, followed by the northern approach of VT 67A. Next, the crews build the silk road approach, which requires a short -term closure and a detour, which is expected in the early until summer 2025. The approaches for the Matteson Road and the college drive are then built, which also require short-term closures and diversions that are expected for midsummer by early autumn 2025.

All work depends on the weather conditions. Please be careful when entering a construction zone, men and equipment will take place in the travel part of the street.

Memory – spring cleaning

Please do not save or blow leaves in the streets or highways, as this clog the storm processes and cause both floods and dangers for the entire community.

Residents and contractors: Please make sure that all loads are covered if you take leaves and or brushes to the transmission station. If you dispose of leaf bags, you have to empty your bags in the stack
