Atlanta – Some business owners in Midtown say that they have to fight nearby since a construction project.
The 1072 West Peachtree project on the corner of 12 and W. Peachtree St. NW has led to intermittent road closures.
Some business owners say that pedestrian traffic and vehicle traffic have decreased considerably since the beginning of the construction.
Tajuansar Diallo, owner of Soak and Polish, says that the building has influenced not only the ambience of her salon, but also its end result.
“To have employees who cannot pay – it hurts. And I never had this problem in the seven years in which I was here,” said Diallo.
Erica Williams, the owner of Boozie Smoothies, repeated similar feelings on Sunday afternoon.

“If it were not only for Doordash or Uber Eats, we wouldn't even survive,” said Williams.
Residents who live along the street like James Turner say that the decline in foot traffic was positive for them.
“Nobody comes here anymore, so I like it. Especially these business here – they probably don't get traffic. But I live here, I have nothing about it,” said Turner.
The construction project developed by the Rockefeller Group, which was built by Turner Construction, will probably be completed by spring 2026, according to the Rockefeller Group website.
The Turner Construction Company announced the following explanation in response to construction problems:
“We believe that the way we build is just as important as what we build. We take care of the communities in which we work and want our neighbors to be safe and successful. In this project, a business owner addressed us to tell us that construction activities have had an impact on your business. We met her directly with it.
We keep regular communication with the surrounding real estate management teams and take steps proactively in order to minimize construction disorders. This is the only business that we had with concerns about us.
Turner has been proud of the Atlanta community for over 50 years, and we are still deeply obliged to maintain a permanent presence since the coming generations to raise, support and work together to strengthen the communities that we build. “
Trend stories:
Radco, the real estate company, which belongs to the building, in which Boozie Smoothies and soaking and soaking Polish rental areas repeated similar feelings:
“The construction company was very communicative about possible disorders that we pass on to our residential and commercial tenants. The construction is not fun for anyone, but it is part of life and work in the city. As soon as the project is complete, there are even more potential customers for the business of our commercial tenants.”
Diallo informed Brittany Kleinpeter from Channel 2 On Sunday evening she will close her doors until the end of the month and move to another area. You can find more information here on how to support you here.
