Braun Corporation has recalled 44 units of its 2024 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager BraunAbility minivans. The seat limiter may not be installed, causing the seat to move too far forward. Therefore, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
The seat limiter, which limits the forward movement of the seat, may have been omitted during manufacture. Not using a seat limiter could increase the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of a collision.
Recall chronology –
- On November 19, 2024, random quality inspections revealed that some seats in certain converted WAVs did not have seat limiters.
- The scope of potentially affected units has been determined.
- At a meeting with the Level 1 group on November 20, 2024, 44 units were identified as potentially affected.
- The final non-compliance decision was made on November 21, 2024.
If necessary, dealers will check and install a seat limiter free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on December 16, 2024. Owners can contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.
