Ghent, W.Va. (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College has announced the addition of new training programs for heavy devices in the growing list of the workforce and academic offers. These programs are designed in such a way that they meet the increasing demand for qualified equipment operators in West Virginia under construction, excavations and location development industry.
The new programs include a Certificate of Applied Science (CAS), an Advanced Skill Set Certificate (ASASC) and a 15-week non-Credit training option for workforce that offers the students several ways to acquire inquiries and start a career with high earth.
The Heavy Equipment Operations CAS is a two-semester, 30-loan-hour program that offers a comprehensive practical training for the operation of Decker, skid controls, mini excavators and excavator extinguishers. The students will also complete the most important course work in terms of maintenance, the assessment of location and the safety of devices that match the OSHA standards. As part of the program, the students receive CDL training (Commercial License's license), which further increases their employment ability and a critical need for the industry is met.
For those who are looking for a faster way to work, the Advanced Skills Set Certificate (ASSC) is a one-semester program with 16-criticism that offers the same high-quality practical equipment and relationships, minus the CDL component. This option is ideal for people who want to improve or refresh their skills in a short time.

In addition, the New River CTC offers a 15-week, non-loan-related personnel training program for strong equipment. This option is tailored to people who strive for a focused, vocational training without completing a formal academic login information.
