The consortium formed by Proximus and Thales was selected by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to manage and operate its core network. This project, which will be carried out by the end of 2029, aims to provide a state-of-the-art integrated technology ecosystem in order to revolutionize the operations and cooperation between NCIA users. This main project will strengthen your digital skills through a safe and scalable infrastructure. The proposed solution combines market -leading technologies in order to create a safe, agile and future -proof infrastructure that enables NCIA to concentrate on its core missions, while the consortium will operate the service on an “contractor operated” model.
A safe safety infrastructure with several domains in several domains
Proximus and Thales are enclosed with its specialist knowledge in network technologies, ensure mobility solutions and secure multi-domains cloud infrastructures.
The infrastructure is supported with the help of the cloud-based technology, which offers NCIA staff high-proof and efficient access to essential IT services and facilitates communication, collaboration and data management in real time on several websites. This modernization will improve the functions, improve compatibility and improve systems to ensure optimal performance.
Through this contract, Thales and Proximus offer a fully managed service, including:
- Infrastructure as a service (IAAS) in a certified and accredited cloud
- End user devices as service (DAAS) for staff
- Robust cyber security solutions to ensure a highly safe digital environment
- Extended network functions for resistant connectivity
- Comprehensive platform management services
- Scalable cloud services for safe storage and high-performance computing
In addition, a safe mobility solution is implemented, including the supply of more than 5,000 laptops in the DAAS mode (DAAS). These devices are equipped with innovative multi-domestic security technology so that users can access different levels of safety classification from a single device.
A strategic step forward for NATO
This strategic contract represents an important step towards technological modernization to support the critical missions of NCIA. By integrating the latest solutions into connectivity, mobility and security, this project will ensure a solution that is adapted to the brave military challenges of tomorrow.
Proximus and Thales therefore position themselves as an important player in the digital transformation of defense and offer a safe, safe connectivity and infrastructure that are tailored to the critical needs of NATO.
