Head Brewer

Job summary

The chief brewer is the senior member of the strong Rope Brewery production team, which is responsible for the entire vision, strategy and execution of the brewery's beer program, which focuses on the use of 100% New York State Malt and Hops. This role combines practical brows and technical supervision with prescription development, production planning and team leadership. The chief brewer ensures that every beer produced meets the quality standards of the rope brewery and at the same time promotes innovation, efficiency and a positive work environment.

Important responsibilities

Recipe development and innovation

• Create and refine recipes that reflect the brand identity and quality expectations of the strong rope brewery.
• Superate all pilot archas, special publications and seasonal beers from the concept through execution.
• Keep the consistency across the core brands at the same time implement while implementing improvements if necessary.

Production management

• Develop and manage the overall production plan to meet sales, sales and taprepro requirements.
• Monitor all stages of brauen, keel, packaging and quality control.
• Troubleshooting with rumenity, basement and packaging problems and implement correction campaigns.
• Maintain and optimize production processes for efficiency and consistency.

Team management and training

• Monitor the production team directly – provision of mentoring, training and professional development.
• Perform regular production meetings, set clear goals and communicate priorities.
• Promote a collaborative, security -oriented and powerful team culture.

Inventory & records

• Monitor all ingredients and material inventory to ensure timely order and cost control.
• Manage complete, precise records in the ERP database system (Enterprise Resource Planning) of the brewery.
• Use of the ingredients, production returns and packaging editions for analysis and forecast.

Quality assurance and security

• Implement and monitor quality control protocols from raw materials through finished beer.
• Make sure that all team members follow the cleaning, sanitary and security procedures.
• Lead security training and compliance with Osha and other applicable regulations.

Cooperation department department

• Work closely with ownership, sales, tapro and sales teams to reconcile production with business goals.
• Representation of the strong rope brewery at industry events, cooperations and public engagements.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in a production brewery, including leadership roles.
• Formal brewery or advanced brewing courses preferred.
• Experience in working with New York ingredients and farmers a plus.
• Familiarity with brewing software or ERP systems a plus.
• Proven specialist knowledge in relation to prescription formulation, production planning and brewery operation.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a collaborative work environment.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs, move full barrels, work at heights and safely to work hot liquids and chemicals.

Working conditions

This is a physically demanding, practical full-time leadership role. The chief brewer will spend a lot of time in the areas of brewery, basement and packaging and at the same time carry out administrative and strategic planning tasks. The position requires flexibility, adaptability and a passion for both the craft and the team that enables it.
