“This project reflects our deep commitment to sustainability and climate economy,” said Andrew Mayock Vice Chancellor for Sustainability. “It is a brave step forward that shows how large institutions can lead to purposes and have a meaningful influence on the planet.”

Pivot Energy is a nationally leading provider of renewable energies and independent energy producers that develops, financed, builds, owns and operates solar and energy storage projects. Pivot offers a distributed energy platform that contains a number of services and software to operate the entire solar ecosystem.

“Pivot Energy is proud to work with the University of Colorado Boulder in this exciting milestone in order to start building this virtual net measurement project,” said Mat Elmore, Senior Vice President for Strategic Accounts at Pivot Energy. “This is a win-win situation for both the largest University of Colorado and Pivot by contributing to Cu Boulder to achieve its goals for renewable energies, and Pivot to advance his mission to accelerate the relocation of solar energy to communities throughout the nation.”

The project laid the foundation stone on August 5, 2025 and is expected to be completed in spring 2026.
