introduction
The construction sector has suffered from an image problem for a long time. Some consider it a shrinking industry, but nothing could be removed from the truth. In fact, employment in the Delaware construction sector is expected to grow by more than 6% in decade by 2032, with around 1,500 jobs all over the state. This does not even explain the many older workers who retire and create space for a younger generation of craftsmen, engineers and workers.
Another prejudice that is often cited against the construction industry is the type of work: outside of work and the requirement for physical work. Although this applies to a deal with construction, this is by no means a universal truth. In addition, both wage and job satisfaction are high in this sector. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, construction managers received an average annual wage of $ 135,200 in 2024 in 2024.
Special trading company
Companies that work in this lower part of the construction work carry out important tasks that are involved in the construction of most buildings such as sanitary, painting and electrical work. Employees of special contract partners can carry out new work, additions, changes, maintenance or repairs.
Here is a look at some of the career opportunities in this sector.
- electrician
- Plumber, pipe fitters and steam fitters: This type of workers install and repair pipes and systems in houses, companies or factories.
- Heating, climate and cooling mechanics and installers: These craftsmen work on so-called HLK systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), executing tasks such as installation and maintenance.
- Roofer
