The latest publication by offsitwood.org is a significant step forward in the production of offsite wood for architects. Version 2.0 provides a number of digital resources to help the designer model, plan and cooperation more efficiently.
Free downloadable libraries are a central and expanded function of the website. In addition, new applications and services are now available that contain wood material e-sample viewers, an advanced table and frame toolbar for Revit as well as a collaborative work area for project optimization.
A Revit -Framing symbol web -Beta access now opened
At the core of the update is the Revit Wood Framing toolbar, a free add-in that is currently available for beta tests. The toolbar makes it possible to optimize and investigate for the dumplings outside of the location how offsite wood shops set walls and openings within Revit without the need for special software.
Instead of replicating the heavyweight functions of professional framework applications, this add-in serves as a flexible, user-friendly option for studios that want to examine the parameters of the paneted construction and the detailed advantages of the wooden frames.
What makes the toolbar particularly useful is the compatibility with the planning functions of Revit. A more reliable estimate of the materials can insert itself directly into broader studies to analyze the CO2 footprint, to cost projections or to evaluate the life cycle.

Advanced Paneticization holds the key to creating a faster and more affordable version of many project types, especially for residential buildings with several units. But like Wood itself, there are many regional variations, so we are really happy to have a number of tools with which industry knowledge can be delivered on the architect's desktop instead of expecting them to become experts in a different specialty.
Families nested soil system families – specialist industry expertise in one package
Open-web beam systems are popular for simple mechanical work and strength. Nevertheless, wood versions were not available on a BIM marketplace (slightly downloaded on the metal -Bar -Bar -Balken and modeled before choosing a manufacturer). The complex open web wood system, which is known as a top chord bearing binder, was difficult to model in Revit-it is the system of choice in the apartment building, the higher fire ratings, the shame capacity in the external walls and the ability to close quickly without expensive, exposed Rim-Joist products in one bowl. The advantages of Flush rays in the building can also be seen when users download the latest nested family with integrated jet systems both in steel and in Glulam. Although it was a team performance, the senior content creator Nic Catellier at Bimpure deserves a special mention for the integration of specialist knowledge. He already described it in training as “the craziest revit family he has ever built”.
Offsite optimizer – collaborative design for modular systems
Another important addition to this publication is the offsite optimizer, an online environment for teams that work with any form of offsite constructions that can benefit from online cooperation without the need for a BIM software. In contrast to conventional workflows that depend on several file transfers between software platforms or that everyone joins a less capable “ecosystem”, the optimizer from Speckle, an open source platform that enables cooperation in real time. Consider it as a jointly used document or multiplayer environment, in which several participants can check and refine a project before signing it in documents.
The optimizer starts with the production of a paneted housing outer, which is based on regional conditions and transport considerations. From there, users can refine wall systems and compare options with data layers such as snow loads, seismic activity or coastal exposure.
In the beta phase, additional features are developed, including dashboards that quantify the transport logistics, the carbon effects and the cost effects.
The group of advanced panelization manufacturers who have gathered to develop digital standards and the ability to react to larger projects with common components makes this really possible

A step towards intelligent wooden construction
With the introduction of version 2.0, Offsitewood.org positions itself as more than just as a reference center. It becomes a functioning toolkit for architects – one that matches existing design practices and at the same time opens the door to modular, outside and sustainable approaches to timber construction.
