Contec Australia presented its first 3D-printed house and marked one step forward for more sustainable, cheaper and faster construction projects.
A unique aspect of this latest build when knocking, a suburb of Perth, is that it includes two floors instead of the only floor with this building method, reported New Atlas.

Cybe trained the Contec team to use its concrete cybe robot crawler in just two weeks, and they were quick learners.
The walls for the first floor only lasted 10 and a half hours of active printing, the second story only lasted eight hours.
A small team of workers only took 18 hours to put down the framework of the house, and the crews in the next five months added the roof, the cabling, the floor and everything else to make it ready for market, added the outlet.
“This innovation deals with some of the biggest challenges in the construction industry, from a shortage of labor to increasing costs,” said Mark D'Alessandro, the founder of Contec Australia. “The 3D concrete pressure significantly reduces construction times and offers a more sustainable alternative to conventional construction methods.”

The Cybe RC can set 500 millimeters of concrete per second and helps the construction company to reduce the costs and at the same time create resilient houses that deal with the turbulent weather conditions and the region's lack of housing.

In recent years, the 3D printing in construction projects has been increasingly accepted, with projects in the USA, Europe and New Zealand appearing to name a few places.
