Is your business inspection ready? What the SST letters from Osha mean for them.

Is your business inspection ready? What the SST letters from Osha mean for them.

If your company has recently received a letter from Osha over a high day, limited or transferred (darts) tariff, you are not alone. The OSHA has updated its inspection program for local targeting (SST), and letters have been sent to facilities whose injury and disease rates exceed industry on average.

This initiative is part of the data -controlled approach of the OSHA to enforce security at the workplace. Using employers, 300A data from the calendar years 2021-2023 identified the OSHA companies that fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • High daring in 2023
  • Upstream crossings in the past three years
  • Non -crossing the required data
  • Unusually low installments, randomly selected to check the accuracy

What does an OSHA letter mean for your company?

When you receive this letter, your facility was identified for a possible inspection. Although it does not mean misconduct, however, it indicates that your data for your injury and illness data is above the national average or the upward trend. Osha's goal is to ensure that employers actively manage the dangers in the workplace and maintain compliance with the safety regulations.

How to prepare for an OSHA inspection

Now it is time to take proactive steps. Inspections as part of the SST program are comprehensive and can check:

  • OSHA 300 protocols, 300a summary and 301 incident reports
  • Your security and health management system
  • Danger controls across all areas at work – not only where incidents occurred

Employers should ensure that all documentation is correct, up -to -date and easily accessible. Just as important, get involved in security practices and strengthen the risk of danger in your company.
