Tamaulipas strengthens its position as a turntable for Clean Energy Innovation with new investments by the private sector, which aim to reduce emissions and produce sustainable fuels. The project, which was presented during a meeting between Juan Ruperto Rodríguez, CEO of Grupo Industrial Águila, and governor of Tamaulipas Américo Villarreal, corresponds to an investment of over 6.5 million dollars.

The facility will have the ability to process up to 14 t plastic waste a day, which contributes to the national goals of Mexico for the emission reduction and production of cleaner fuel. Officials said the initiative would also promote healthier ecosystems by reusing materials that typically harm the environment.

Villarreal promised to promise the project by facilitating permits and technical and environmental studies as well as securing raw materials and recognizing potential locations for installation.

As part of the meeting, officials also drive the El Bernal coal packaging work in El Bernal, which is ready to start with an estimated performance of 200 t per month and a forecast maximum capacity of 600 t per month.

In related messages, MBN reports that over 3,000 participants and 170 speakers took part in the fifth edition of the Mexico Carbon Forum in Expo Tampico, where officials, international representatives and experts emphasized the urgency of climate measures and opportunities on the carbon markets.

José Luis Samaniego, deputy minister of sustainable development and circular economy, Semarnat, emphasized that President Claudia Sheinbaum and Environment Minister Alicia Bárcena prioritize the establishment of a “zero waste republic”. He warned that Nearshoring, new industrial corridors and energy forms could add over 212 million T CO₂ emissions. The federal guidelines between the sectors – including agriculture, energy, finance and human development – aim to reduce emissions.

According to Villarreal, Tamaulipas plays a double role as an energy generator and sustainability leader. “We have to use science and technology to reduce excessive emissions,” he says, adding that unchecked CO₂ can interfere with natural systems. Karina Saldívar, Tamaulipa's Minister for Urban Development and the Environment, is called “a space for dialogue, cooperation and collective measures”. It adds that the state development plan 2022-2028 and the urban program for sustainable development are framework conditions for the promotion of renewable energy and round economic initiatives.

The speakers underlined the role of carbon taxes and markets. Only 11 of the 32 states in Mexico, including Yucatan, Colima, Mexico city, Morelos, Queretaro, Guanajuato and Tamaulipas. Eduardo Piquero, Director, México2, notes that a non -agreement between CO2 loan offer and demand. In Tamaulipas, demand could reach 4.3 million credits if all justified companies take part, while the national loan offers continue to receive around 1.2 million – and is not sufficient to meet demand.
