Most 3D printer manufacturers have recognized the need to develop entry-level 3D printers to lower the barrier to adoption and attract early adopters. Entry-level platforms allow them to reach new customer segments – from educational institutions to small businesses – who may later upgrade to industrial-grade machines.

The latest manufacturer to implement this strategy is Xjet, one of the few manufacturers that has expertise in high-quality 3D printing of metals and ceramics.

The OEM reveals the Carmel Pro, a new system designed to expand the accessibility of its proprietary system NanoParticle Jetting™ (NPJ) technology to SMEs, research centers and jewelry manufacturers.

The 3D printer allows metal and ceramic inks to be sprayed directly onto a separate soluble substrate, ensuring precision and versatility. With a 60-70% lower initial investment compared to Carmel's existing systems

“The Carmel Pro represents a significant milestone in democratizing access to industrial, powder-free and safe additive manufacturing of metals and ceramics“,” says Guy Zimmerman, CEO of XJet. “By delivering the same precision and materials capabilities of our larger systems in a compact, cost-effective format, we are enabling a new generation of manufacturers, designers and researchers to realize the unique benefits of NanoParticle JettingTM technology.”

Key Features

The Carmel Pro offers multi-material printing capability with four material channels. The system is fully compatible with XJet's complete portfolio of metal and ceramic inks, including the company's unique precious metals capability, and supports future expansion into high-value materials and specialty applications.

The new 3D printer is designed to be easy to use even by non-professionals or shift workers and integrates several intelligent automation features, including:

  • Order initiation at the touch of a button, with automated pre-checks, guided setup wizards and self-monitoring systems.
  • Less than 20 minutes turnaround time between jobs, enabled by rapid cleaning and setup processes that minimize downtime and ensure maximum material utilization for efficient production.
  • Compatibility with XJet's automated print-wash-sinter process ensures seamless integration into all production processes.

The Carmel Pro is available to pre-order now ahead of Formnext and will be available in stores Q2 2026. Further details will be announced below XJet stand 11.0-D11 at the trade fair.
