Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the Mitchell Republic headline. Often the byline “Mitchell Republic” is used when rewriting basic short messages that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes many authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If external sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
