Enter the southern house in Costa Navarino from K-Studio

Part of this group of Southward House was founded for their customers as an escape to the sun – a Northern European family. Although the building is modern, its location is gracefully aged and shaped by 4500 years of history. His view is unhindered and expands over the Ionian Sea, the lush golf courses and the gardens.

K-Studio had to align its work with the strict traditional architectural patterns of the region, ensuring that new residences are a natural expansion of the surrounding landscape. Here the architects remained a contemporary spin that is directed for both functionality and aesthetics.

The team was inspired by the “folk” architecture in Messinia, which usually contains different stone volumes that can be seen on piazzas and courtyards. K-Studio, inspired by this, decided to integrate negative rooms in forms of hidden passage and dodgy courtyards.

The studio told wallpaper*, our favorite part of the building is the complicated interaction of the modules and the way they form courtyards, passages and dynamic outdoor areas. The central axis is particularly convincing – a subtle but powerful feature that combines all rooms visually and functionally. The way the water element – through the pool – is connected to almost every floor on the ground floor and how the inner functions are reflected outdoors, creates a lively experience that is really urgent and happy. The facade of the residences is defined by a texture stone that comes from a nearby quarry and gives seamless integration into the organic environment. However, the integration of white concrete slabs gives a modernist note.

Due to the pleasant climate of the region, the architects integrated a feeling of living seamlessly. This can be felt when you enter the house if you are greeted with the long prospects. The large pool on the ground floor reflects these views, which of course invites nature inside.

The bedrooms are located on the left side of the building or on the top floor. All other internal rooms have a double free and offer options for cooking outdoors, showering, lazing and training outdoors. K-Studio worked closely with its social and active customers, and the home is a testimony to lively holiday life.

The studio said: “We want visitors to feel a feeling of calm, the connection to nature and the fluid ability between interior and outdoor spaces. From the first step into the central courtyard, the design invites people to combine themselves visually and physically with the natural landscape, sea views and the pool. Insert harmonious and uplifting experience.
