A 'hard no, relax regulation, increase the risk: PD letters

Press Democratic readers comment on the SRJC bond plan and more.

A 'hard no' on more SRJC bonds

editor: The edition of July 28th contained an article in which officials of the Santa Rosa Junior College want to “test the appetite of the voters” to pay even more bonds for the maintenance deficit and upgrades (“SRJC is big on New Bond”). Lay me down for a hard no. Bonds are the most expensive way to finance these problems. Long after repairs are out of date and more maintenance is required, we will still pay for these bonds and you will ask for more. There are currently two SRJC bonds in my property tax bill – one from 2002 and one from 2014. This current question would include my costs for these bonds to around $ 350 per year. Add this to the other problems of school bond in my bill and for many, many years there are almost 700 US dollars a year. The article says that college has significant unsatisfied needs. I also make a different way.

Relaxation regulation, increasing risks

editor: Some politicians like to push back the idea of killing regulations for “killing jobs” and overlooked that they are present to protect workers and the public from clearly identifiable risks in a company. When these regulations are removed, people die. Every time I read the Cal-Osha-Regs, they are relaxed, there is another article after it has been reported that the accidents have risen from employees. Some of these accidents kill workers. If a politician says he wants to remove the business regulations for business people because they are business owners a “burden” for business owners, he is also in order with injuries, illnesses and death for employees and customers. The eSparto explosions made it clear with a bang or a fairly large “boom”.

Greeting the return of competent governance

editor: The competent governance is back at the federal level. The Americans have experienced the worst inflation for 40 years, worse than inflation that was experienced under the former President Jimmy Carter. Crime was widespread across the country. Open, lawless borders led to the invasion of 12-15 million illegal immigrants, many of whom were already criminals before entering the United States illegally. No longer.

Wars in overseas and the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan are part of the bidue-harris heir of incompetence. The massive debts were created by American taxpayers due to the handover of the government for programs with little to no surveillance. No longer.

Too National Discord was Joe Biden's hug from Woke/Identity Politics and censorship of the views of people to Covid's origins, vaccinations, women's sports, diversity and more. No longer.

Biden made a government weapons against political opponents as standard for his Ministry of Justice and his intelligence group, including extensions of the Russian joke and the Hunter biden laptop complaints. No longer.

It is great to see that so many problems are resolved. Next, California can return to a good government.

Save us from the king's moods

editor: I have followed most of my eight decades: Joe McCarthy, Southern Segregation, The Vietnam was, Watergate, Ad Infinitum. I studied two degrees in history. Our nation – and has – and has many problems (often from our own making) with too few solutions.

Our current self -inflicted political problem comes from Donald Trump. He won the presidency with relatively few votes. The houses of the congress are trump players due to relatively few voices. The other day I heard that a politician said that Trump received a “mandate” to meet the rules. Trump uses this slim majority to support the government on those who do not agree.

I read “ingenious”, a biography of Benjamin Franklin. From Lord Grenville, the King's Council of the King of King George II, a royal reaction to the movements of the colonial America in the direction of self -government: “The minister has defined the king's instruction to his (colonial) governors as” law of the country “. Grenville described the monarch as the legislator of the colonies. “”

With the consent of a compliant congress and a back management court, Trump acts as a new monarch. God saved us from the king.

The heart of matter in the Gaza

editor: David Ignatius' July 23 Column Points Out Multiple Factors That Have Led To A Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza, But He Only Briefly Touches on the Heart of the Matter – That Hamas Is Manipulating The Chaos And Sacrificing Gazan Civilians Decision to launch a pogrom nearly 22 Months Ago Consisting of House-to-house torture, rape, kidnapping and murder in Israeli civilian communities, as well as mass sexual violence and slaughter at a music festival.

Published hostages have described how the Hamas fighters have a lot of food for themselves, and there are several videos from 2023 that show that Hamas -armed men steal from auxiliary cars and civilians. The United Nations, some of which took part in the atrocities in October 2023, while other civilians – including children – as hostages for Hamas, have also refused to work with the Gaza humanitarian foundation because “neutrality” only has to work with Hamas to distribute food.

The simple truth is that this terrible war can end today because it has started every day if Hamas let go of the hostages and put down their weapons.
