Avery Dennison improves the AD Circular ™ program and works with soprema to promote the round economy across Europe
Oegstgeest, Netherlands – Avery Dennison, a leading global provider of materials science and manufacture, has announced a new strategic partnership with soprema in which the recycling program of the ad circular liner is significantly expanded. As a primary liner recycling partner of Avery Dennison, soprema will serve throughout Europe and transform glassin liners used into sustainable building insulation. Soprema is the only company that is able to recycled glassin liners in cellulose wading through a patented internal process worldwide.
Through this partnership, Avery Dennison partner wants to enable partnership in the labeling and packaging industry to take into account the principles of the circular economy. By using the established recycling infrastructure and the specialist knowledge of Soprema, AD Circular can offer improved operational efficiency and scalability, improve access for customers in order to recycle their used Glasine Liner and help them achieve their critical sustainability goals.
Under AD Circular, Soprema collects Liner, which is produced by a brand or a supplier in different countries in Europe. Every year, customers are supplemented by annual certification, which offers a clear, quantifiable detection of the entire tonnage of the recycled liner.
In addition, collected liners are now being converted into high-performance cellulose wadding for the structure of insulation. This aims to make buildings more energy -efficient, reduce demand for virgin resources and to promote a more circular and sustainable economy. For example, a tonne glassin liner can isolate up to two attics and take the entire lifespan of the building, which significantly extends the useful life of these resources.
'' Our partnership with soprema underlines the transformative potential of working with the industry. By combining our strengths and our specialist knowledge, we can significantly scale our sustainability effects and drive circularity not only within labeling and packaging, but also in the entire broader construction sector. It is these collaborative innovations that are essential for creating sensible and permanent progress in the direction of a sustainable future. “ – Sophia Savvides, Director, Sustainability & Strategy, Avery Dennison Emena
