Since the city administrations come back to the memorial day, the calendar of this week includes budgetary discussions, appointments and public hearings in more than a dozen cities and counties in Nordkentucky.

City Council of Crescent Springs

Date: Tuesday, May 27th

Fiscal Court in Kenton County

Date: Tuesday, May 27th

Key Takeaways: The Fiscal Court of Kenton County has adopted a decades of incentive for the salary statement to support the move of Fischer Homes from Erlangen to Covington. The company will move almost 350 jobs to the revitalized first District Elementary Building on Scott Boulevard. As part of the incentive, the district will credit 50% of the professional license fees raised by Fischer employees by 2035. Local officials praised the deal as a victory for the economic development in the city center of Covington. Read more.

Covington Board of Commissioners

Date: Tuesday, May 27th

Most important snack: The construction of the Brent Spence Corridor project will begin in Covington this summer, including a new roundabout on the 3rd and crescent, sewage improvements and hiking scales. According to the city officials, traffic delays are expected, but long -term advantages are emphasized. Transparent noise walls and gateway signs are also developed. Read more.

Newport Independent School Board of Education

Date: Wednesday, May 28th

Most important snack: Parents and former employees again called for a forensic exam of Newport Independent Schools at the board meeting on Wednesday, citing alleged financial mismanagement. The board confirmed the concerns and said that an exam was examined. Read more.

City Council of Cold Spring

Most important snack: The city council discussed the budget for the coming financial year 2025-2026. Each department head in the city presented the council to its proposed budget. Then the city council asked questions and discussed the budget.

City Council of Edgewood

Date, time and location: Monday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Mitchell City Building on Dixie Highway.

Union City Commission

Date, time and location: Monday, June at 6:30 p.m. in the Union City Building am Bristow Drive.

On the agenda: At its upcoming session, the Commission will consider a changed budget for the 2024-25 financial year. Further agenda items are the reinstatement of Terrill Kidwell to the Board of Directors, the appointment of Teresa Robinson as the Economic Development Committee and a new contract for the tomb services at the Union Rice Cemetery.

Wilderer City Councilor

Kenton County Board of Education

Date, time and place: Monday, June 2 at 7 p.m. in the Sanitation Department in Kenton County on the Eaton Drive.

On the agenda: The Executive Board will recognize educators, check monthly reports, approve offers and furnishing usage agreements and take into account contracts and software extensions for the 2025-26 financial year. The most important topics include participation in the nutritional program, two credit agreements with universities and construction updates. Public entries and items of consent are also planned.

City Council of Independence

Fort Thomas Stadtrat

Date, time and location: Monday, June 2 at 7 p.m. in Fort Thomas' chambers in North Fort Thomas Avenue.

On the agenda: Before the meeting, the city council will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 financial year. At its upcoming session, Fort Thomas' city council will hold the first readings for several regulations, including updates from the city's bicycle regulation, a change in household for the current financial year, the proposed budget from 2025-26 and an update of the salary classification. Fiscal dish of the Boone County

Date, time and location: Tuesday, June 3, 5:30 p.m. in the Boone County Administration Building on Washington Street.

On the agenda: The fiscal court will consider several measures related to the proposed household house from 2025-2026, including a second reading for approval of the budget. In addition, the financial court will discuss a proposed change in the change of zone for a hotel project on Richwood Road. Covington Board of Commissioners

Date, time and location: Tuesday, June 3 at 6 p.m. in the Covington town hall in the Pike Street.

On the agenda: The commissioners will check a number of articles, including the city's budgetary ordinance 2025-2026, the updated guidelines of the police authority and several actions within the fire brigade. Elsmere City Councilor

Date, time and location: Tuesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Elsmere City Building on Dixie Highway.

On the agenda: The city council will hold a first reading of a regulation that changes the 2024-2025 budget. The city also announced three new appointments according to Executive Order: William “Buddy” Krebs and Curtis Czirr as public worker and Teresa Finke as Senior Services Manager. Boone County Planning Commission

In addition, the planning commission will check a proposal from the long branch development to change a concept development plan for 185 hectares along the Hathaway Road.
