Press release

Oakland-Cal/Osha reminds employers in California to publish their annual summary of work and illness in connection with working injuries and illnesses by February 1, 2025. The form 300A summary must be published every year from February 1 to April 30th.

The annual summary must be placed in a visible and easily accessible area on every construction site. This helps ensure that workers are aware of work -related injuries and illnesses in the previous year. Employers have to fill out 300a and post them according to form 300a, even if no injuries or illnesses have occurred in the workplace.

Instructions and form templates can be downloaded from CAL/OSHAS recording overview. The overview provides instructions on filling out both the protocol (form 300) and the annual summary (Form 300a) of work -related injuries and illnesses.

Current and former employees and their representatives are entitled to a copy of the summary or the protocol on request.

Many employers in California must also adhere to the electronic submission of the requirements for the requirements for injury and illness records on March 2 of each year. Cal/Osha has published details about which employers have to submit the electronic reports and other information online.

In order to be recordable, an illness must be work -related and lead to one of the following:

  • Death
  • Days away from work
  • Limited work or transfer to another job
  • Medical treatment beyond first aid
  • Loss of consciousness
  • A significant injury or illness that was diagnosed by a doctor or another licensed medical specialist.

The definitions and requirements for recording work-related deaths, injuries and illnesses are presented in the California regulation code, title 8, sections 14300 to 14300.48.

Employers who are obliged to record work-related deaths, injuries and illnesses, like any other occupational disease, must record work-related covid 19 deaths or disease. If a work-related Covid 19 case meets one of these criteria, employers in California must record the case with 300, 300 A and 301 or equivalent forms.
