Carbicrete, a leading company in the decarbonization of concrete and point.p, a brand Saint-Gobain, has announced that Point.PS concrete system in Hauts-de-France will be the first facility in France that begins cement-free concrete blocks, starting with Q1 2026.
The patented technology of carbicrete enables the production of cement -free concrete, which avoids 100% of the cement -related emissions by replacing cement with a steel by -product and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by mineralized CO2 into the concrete for permanent storage.
This new production line will use carbicrete technology to produce 20,000 tons of cement -free concrete blocks in the first year, with production doubled in the second year.
“This start, a first -class first in France, is an essential part of promoting our strategy for sustainable low -carbon construction work in order to meet the needs of our customers,” says Nicolas Gotte, Managing Director of Point.P. “We are proud to work together with carbicrete in order to change prototypes to the large -scale implementation of this innovative technology, which enables the production of a more sustainable block for construction with low -carbon carbon. Together we show that cement -free concrete concrete concept is more, but a tangible, reliable and scalable solution for the construction of laboratory is.”
“Our entry into the French market is a crucial moment for carbicrete,” says Jacob Homiller, CEO of the company. “We see Point.P with your commitment to sustainable apartments as an ideal partner for the scaling of our technology. This important milestone paves the way for the more comprehensive introduction of the carbicrete process in Europe and beyond what to make us realize our vision, specific climate protection.”
Carbicrete products are currently available in Canada and in the northeast of the United States.
