Carib Cement researches long -lasting concrete streets for the rural areas of Jamaica

Carib Tongue Company evaluates the implementation of his Unicapa concrete solution in Jamaica as part of a pilot program to improve rural street infrastructure. Managers of the company have recently assessed important roads in St. Elizabeth and St. Andrew to evaluate their suitability for the initiative.

The assessment included streets in slip and Vineyard in St. Elizabeth and in Dublin Castle in St. Andrew. The Unicapa solution developed by the parent company Cemex from Carib Cemement was successfully introduced in countries such as Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama. It is designed so that it is difficult to achieve lasting, low -maintenance street surfaces in rural agricultural areas and others.

The managing director of Carib Comement, Jorge Martinez, emphasized the potential advantages of the technology, citing their long -term durability and cost efficiency.

“By investing in this type of road technology within the framework of our social impact program, Carib Cement is obliged to support local farming communities with reliable infrastructure, which improves productivity and improves connectivity between the communities,” said Martinez.

The company also aims to integrate the Unicapa initiative into its broader efforts for concrete road development.

“This initiative will work with our concrete road projects and strengthen the more comprehensive commitment of Carib Cemement for the establishment of a permanent infrastructure that supports the development and growth of the community,” added Martinez.

The pilot program corresponds to the national infrastructure goals after an announcement by the Minister of Agriculture, fishing and mining, Hon. Floyd Green, who introduced plans in parliament last year to explore Unicapa's potential in Jamaica.

While Carib Cement is progressing with his feasibility ratings, the company continues to position itself as an important player to promote the development of the infrastructure in Jamaica through sustainable and innovative solutions.
