Certis Biologics considers innovation to be more than a keyword. It is the backbone of a global strategy that is built to support breeders with effective, sustainable solutions. Eric Luce, director of the ROW Crop portfolio for Certis Biologicals, explains how the company tries to offer North American producer products that work with IPM programs.
ABG: Microbial are the focus of many biological companies. What are some of the challenges that make microbia for durability and effectiveness? What progress do you see on the market that make microbial formulations a better option for producers?
Eric Luce: Biological falls in general in two main categories: microbial and bioconal role. While they have long been used in special plants, we are now seeing exciting progress when they expand into the rows harvest in North America and beyond. Nowadays, microbial efforts are applied throughout the vegetation period-from seed treatments up to mixtures in the base and leaf applications-to offer the producer several options to integrate them into their programs.
It is particularly encouraging how well these products are now cutting along with conventional chemicals. Thanks to the progress in the wording and the strict physical and quality tests, microbien prove their ability to withstand hard conditions and to remain viable when mixing tanks. These improvements go beyond durability, they offer real, measurable effectiveness in both organic and conventional systems. As a result, there is growing trust in biological as a reliable and strategic part of modern harvest protection.
Abg: Your company focuses on biological, but many producers use IPMS. How does your company work with retailers and producers who want to use besides biological synthetic chemicals?
HE: Biological fit for integrated pest control (IPM) programs for integrated pest control and actively promote the use of synthetics at Certis to support the success of the breeder. This approach enables several action modes (MOAS) in a tank mix, improvement in the field performance and the expansion of the effectiveness of existing synthetic products by helping to manage resistance problems in connection with long -used chemicals.
Certis products are designed in such a way that they are seamlessly integrated into every IPM strategy in order to reduce the pest population under the economic threshold (ET) without disturbing beneficial species.
While some companies pursue a broad approach by inserting several trunks into a single wording, Certis focuses on the targeted performance. The selection of one or two proven trunks that effectively control the target pest and at the same time support the health of soil and plants.
It is about adding what is already working and building long -term and sustainable success in this area.
Abg: Which three changes have your company made in the past 10 years to scale the production of biological?
HE: One of the largest drivers of Certis's long -term success was our commitment to internal production. We have produced most of our biological products in the United States for more than 23 years – and this commitment remains unchanged.
What has developed is how we scale production to satisfy the growing demand. First, we keep complete control over every phase of the process, from fermentation to packaging. In this way, we can use our deep biological specialist knowledge to depend on product quality, compatibility, the livelihood of stretching and the durability breeders.
Second, we have continuously improved our manufacturing systems and protocols and often have difficulty difficulties for biological optimized-to-do companies that rely on third-party manufacturers.
And thirdly, we made considerable investments in the expansion of our US production capacity, added the infrastructure to support our growing North American footprint and ensure that we remain a reliable supplier as the demand continues to increase.
Abg: What two mistakes do you see other biological companies and what should you do instead?
HE: At Certis we learned that long -term success begins with the right thing right from the start. A common danger in this industry is to skip or skip the strict path to regulatory approval. Each product in the wide portfolio of Certis is EPA registered and many are listed in Omri. The achievement of this validation requires years of research and data – but it is important to demonstrate real effectiveness and deliver consistent moss that the producers can rely on.
Another frequent error is a lack of clarity in relation to product performance. The producers deserve to know exactly what a product can and what is not. We ensure that our sales partners and breeders clearly understand how every product works, what results are to be expected and how it supports their general ROI strategy.
This level of transparency builds trust and long-term loyalty.
