The extended project will expand the current two-lane road to a new two-way gymnastics trail as well as bike paths and pedestrian on both sides from Kapolei to Ewa.
The scope of the project includes the reconstruction of the Kaloi Stream Bridge and the Honouliuli Stream Bridge as well as the construction of drainage structures and through gap; Asphalt and concrete routes; Concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks; Gas, water and nave lines; Road lighting, traffic signals and landscape design. The work also includes the relocation of water pipes, the relocation of overhead and underground electrical and telecommunications infrastructures, demolition and removal of structures, clearing, classification and paving markings and signs.
The project is designed in such a way that it meets future capacity requirements and at the same time compensates for multimodal trips for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and transit users.
