Bryn Mawr College has an opening for a Director of Health Services.

The Director of Health Services is responsible for managing all aspects of student health services at the college. This role ensures the delivery of high quality, evidence-based healthcare while promoting wellbeing as a holistic and dynamic key to health and wellbeing. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team, works within an integrated system of counseling services, and collaborates with other campus departments to support student success through comprehensive health initiatives.

Main tasks:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the college's health department.
  • Supervise clinical, administrative and support staff, including nurses, nurse practitioners, contract physicians and wellness promotion professionals.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the health center, including budgeting, scheduling, compliance and quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local health regulations, including FERPA, OSHA and public health reporting.
  • Coordinate emergency planning for health-related crises and disease outbreaks.
  • Support health promotion programs, which include NCHA or other periodic student-focused health surveys, wellness education campaigns, and prevention initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local health departments, the leaders of our peer college health centers, hospitals and referral networks.
  • Manage electronic medical record (EMR) systems and ensure privacy and accuracy.
  • Advise university leadership on health trends, risk management, and student health needs.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with college stakeholders, including students, faculty, directors, undergraduate deans, and deans outside of the undergraduate college.
  • Monitor vaccination compliance, including vaccination records and required screenings for incoming students.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for university management as required.

Qualifications

Necessary:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of PA and all national certifications and requirements necessary for the title.
  • Current DEA license or willingness to apply.
  • A record/experience with healthcare leaders.
  • Extensive (5-7 years) experience in outpatient healthcare
  • Strong understanding of student and emerging adult health issues, including mental health, sexual and gender health, and prevention.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (including speaking and writing) and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing DEIJA principles and standards in healthcare delivery and administration.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.

Preferred:

  • Doctorate degree in nursing, public health, health administration or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education healthcare
  • Membership in the American College Health Association
  • Membership in a leading professional body, organization or coalition.
