The US Ministry of Labor (DOL) is a federal authority who is responsible for the well -being of the workforce in the United States. His mission is to promote, promote and develop the well -being of wage recipients, job seekers and pensioners across the country.

New nominations of the US Ministry of Labor

President Trump announced the nomination of the new secretary Lori Chavez-Deremer on November 22, 2024 and found that he was looking forward to “working with her to create enormous opportunities for American employees, to expand training courses, to improve wages and to improve working conditions, to bring our production orders back.” Chavez deremer has public service for over two decades, starting in 2002 at Happy Valley Parks Committee in Oregon. It was then elected to the US representative house in 2022 and served in the house committees for agriculture. Education and workforce; and transport and infrastructure.

The new deputy labor minister is Keith Sondery, who was confirmed by the Senate on March 12, 2025. Before his appointment, Sondery served as a former EEOC commissioner and the acting and deputy administrator of the DOL wage and hourly department.

Executive Order and OFCCP

The department plays a decisive role in compliance with federal companies and subcontractors who comply with the work standards, laws such as the McNamara-o'hara service contract act (SCA), the Davis Bacon Act and the contract hours and security standards Act (CWHSSA) as well as the securing of fair employment procedures.

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) ensures that federal entrepreneurs and subcontractors meet the requirements for the same employment opportunities and the positive action requirements, including the Vietnam -ära Veteran Act for adaptation (Vevraa) and rehabilitation act.

Many agency websites, including several DOL pages, have undergone major changes in the past few months. The OFCCP website expressly presented a page with EO 14173 “termination of illegal discrimination and restoration of opportunities for merit”.

This week JD Supra reported that deactivated OFCCP websites are back in operation and the audience no longer led to the “page found” mistakes that were too common on websites of the Federal Agency. Including, but not limited to:
