Engel Group subsidiary TMA Automation Sp. z oo z oo has started construction of a new office and production building near Gdańsk Airport in Poland. Engel acquired a majority stake in TMA Automation in 2022 and in a press release the company stated that the new building in Gdańsk will “intensify the collaboration” between the two companies. TMA Automation remains active in the market as an independent brand and while founders Marek Łangowski and Piotr Orlikowski will continue to lead the business, Walter Aumayr has been appointed Vice President for Post-Merger Integration of the Engel Group and Managing Director of TMA Automation. In this role, according to Engel, Aumayr will “complement the local management team and strengthen the connection to the Engel Group.”

The new building is part of an expansion strategy for TMA Automation, which envisages doubling the number of employees at the company. TMA manufactures customized automation systems for Eastern Europe and specializes in the development and installation of customized systems for in-mold labeling (IML), side-entry robots, palletizing and standalone assembly.
Engel points out that the collaboration with TMA in the region began long before the Austrian company acquired a majority stake in 2022. The new building is expected to be completed in autumn 2025. TMA was founded in 2010 in Gdynia, Poland, about 24 kilometers from Gdansk Airport.
