Engineers harp innovative, integrative solutions to combat the apartment crisis

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has called for a collective, innovative and locally powered approach to manage Africa's apartments.

The President of the NSE, Margaret Oguntala, called on Africa International Housing Show 2025 (AIHS) in Abuja.

Oguntala, who was a special guest of honor, described the topic: “Accommodation new challenges for opportunities through innovation, cooperation and politics”, since both in good time and visionary, especially in the context of the growing housing deficit of the continent and the rapid urbanization of urbanization.

“To achieve this, governments at all levels must confront the real estate crisis directly through increased investments, political reform and the activation of partnerships.”

In many countries, many countries use innovative approaches to housing. The countries essentially pursue sustainable, affordable and efficient tree methods such as the use of prefabrications, modular construction, 3D printing and the use of sustainable materials such as recycled plastics and materials of the carbon storage. In terms of financing models, initiatives such as co-ownership, crowdfunding of residential projects and socio-technical innovations are taken into account.

She assured that the company is committed to promoting the use of cost -effective, environmentally friendly and locally adaptable housing technologies. Oguntala campaigned for the increased use of local content in the construction system and explained that such an approach reduces the costs, stimulates the local economy and generates employment opportunities.

Oguntala also emphasized the need to use more cooperation between government agencies, developers, political decision -makers, financiers and international partners and to determine that a real transformation in the apartment sector would only be possible through sustainable synergy, innovation and common responsibility.
