The Prime Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini on Friday, opened the standard operating methods and procedures (SOMPS) developed by the quality assurance authority and was a considerable step towards ensuring a robust and reliable infrastructure in the entire state. The event, which took place in the PWD Rast House in Sector-1 in Panchkula, showed the state's commitment to the high-quality development.

Saini emphasized that the SOMPS represent more than just one document; They embody a vision to build a basis for quality, sustainable infrastructure and good government. It highlighted the quality assurance authority as the first institution at the state level, which was only devoted to the quality of the infrastructure, with the model drawing the attention of other states and central institutions. “We hope that this model will soon become a national network for quality assurance,” he said.
Saini underlined the importance of quality construction and found that poorly executed projects are disadvantageous. The SOMPS should set quality standards for government departments, engineers, contractors and political decision -makers and ensure security, reliability and efficiency. He pulled parallels on the effects of Sips in aviation and healthcare and emphasized the importance of quality standards such as “Six Sigma” in the global construction industry.
The quality assurance authority that has been set up to ensure quality construction in all departments covers important sectors such as roads, bridges, buildings, watering, water, waste water and energy. Saini announced the plans to expand the extent of the authority to private infrastructure projects associated with the licensing of the government, including public-private partnerships, private buildings, townships and industrial parks that aim to increase the trust of the public and the trust of public.
The Minister of Development and Panchayat, Krishan Lal Panwar, and the Minister for Public Works, Ranbir Gangwa, repeated the importance of quality in development projects and emphasized the financial and public effects of compromised standards. The chairman of the quality assurance authority, Rajeev Arora, gave a presentation on the comprehensive structural framework and the holistic approach of the authority.
