The development of relationships with potential customers requires patience. ACI Asphalt & Concrete, LLC Sales Associate Mike Picott used a two -year relationship with the new customer Tafaa Tufaa from MTN in Fridley, Minnesota. He saw that this came into play this season after long negotiations.
The customer's goal was to create a new ASSPENT parking lot of 157,995 square meters with new stripes in order to lead the traffic more efficiently at its location in Minneapolis.

Such a project required the efforts of many to carry out it smoothly, promptly and efficiently. Picott has entered the help of the estimation manager Mike Dietz, who put together a rocky proposal. After numerous site visits with the customer, Picott brought in Aci President Justin Pomerleau to meet the customer twice to assure him that they were the right company for this project.
Picott believed that he had Pomerleau at the meeting added significant customer service and a personal note to convey the trust of the selection Aci Was the best choice for his company. As it turned out, Picott was right because Tufaa finally signed the contract.
Get the ball rolling
Soon after Aci The superintendent Jeff Hollenback and the superintendent Barry Hall met to put together a valuation and paving plan. The existing construction site was terribly flat with poor drainage.
Hall is a boot on the floor, while Hollenback has masterfully planned the classification and pavement for seamless operation.

As with many projects, the customer had some changes that he had implemented. Here the estimator Dustin Velasco filled the role of the project coordinator. Valasco revised cards, treated the change orders and directed part of the logistics. In addition to providing a second look at the project, he was also able to carry out some ideas for improvements to Tufaa.
One of the greatest obstacles with which they dealt was the weather that the project drives late into the season. The crews began to grind on October 23, 2024. In addition, they also had to work and drive with electricians, concrete crews and hundreds of buses. It was a very busy parking lot.
Underline the obstacles
This project required 4000 tons of asphalt and 700 feet B612 curbing. A typical truck can transport about 16 tons of asphalt. This gives you an idea of the mere volume, in truck loads of asphalt that was necessary. The ability to choreographed crews, trucks and asphalt is an art for all of its own, especially since almost all projects are delayed due to the frequent rainy weather.

When the rain finally subsided, the end of the season was unusually warmer temperatures, but before they were comfortable, the crews were hit four centimeters of snow at the end of October. This has completely stopped the work. The snow was not grateful and it was mostly disappeared two days later, with the crews coming back to the shop.
The MTN project lasted about two weeks. The trust that Tufaa showed throughout the project increased the morals of the crews that did an excellent work despite the challenges. In the end, Tufaa was enthusiastic about the security and efficiency of her new parking lot.
Aci was proud of the work of his team, as it is in all their projects. Now the company takes lessons from such jobs and is preparing for an even better season around 2025!
