Flight safety foundation calls for "industry -wide recommendation for security bases"

Alexandria, VA – complacency and faults in accordance with international standards, regulations and standard procedures are among the security concerns with which the aviation industry is exposed.

In the report, the foundation raised top-class incidents this year that have occurred so far, including the collision of a commercial airline with a Black Hawk helicopter in the US Army, in which 67 people were killed in the nation's capital on January 29.

“The report emphasizes that these events remain rare, their frequency and severity cannot be ignored in such a short time,” says the non -profit organization in a press release. “The foundation calls for an industry -wide recommendation for security bases and calls on the supervisory authorities, aircraft service providers, airports, air operators and manufacturers to strengthen compliance as the first step towards reconstruction of a reliable security culture.

“The aviation sector must remain vigilant from runway excursions and turbulence -related events to top -class failures and operations in conflict zones.”

Last year, 268 people were killed in airlines – most since 2019 when 280 deaths were recorded, and more than twice the total of 110 2023.

The foundation planned a webinar for 11 a.m. on March 12 to discuss its report and the security challenges of the industry.
