Gensler's design by Al -Aly Football Stadium sets a new benchmark for sports architecture - PA

Al-Nahry, a name that is equipped with football excess in Africa and in the Middle East, is the most successful football club in the region. In collaboration with El Qalaa El Hamraaa and Buro Happold, Gensler has developed a concept design for a first -class, floor stadium for the club, which redefines the experience of the fans, which makes economic growth and is a new yardstick in sports architecture worldwide.

For thirty years in the creation, the design marks a transformative opportunity for Al-Nahry to finally have a stadium that you can describe your own-at home that captures the passion of your fans. The stadium with 42,000 seats serves as a gateway to the busy capital of Egypt along the motorway, which connects Cairo and Alexandria. One of the defining architectural features of the stadium is the massive structural arch, which makes it immediately recognizable from all perspectives.

The design offers several innovative solutions and embedded technology. The design team integrated a sunken pitch and an asymmetrical bowl due to height restrictions that were imposed by flight paths with the nearby international airport Sphinx. This creates a dynamic atmosphere on the match day and at the same time uses cooler earth temperatures to reduce the heat of the environment and achieve sustainability after passive design measures. The integration of a digital facade with options for digital projections transforms the stadium into an iconic landmark that illuminates Cairo's skyline at night.

Central to the design is the inclusion of a variety of experiences for al-Nahry fans. On arrival, the fans are greeted on the lively 'owner' Plaza ', a dynamic space that gives the sound for the entire visit to the stadium. With space for 30,000 fans, it has social areas, a team business, cafés and the Al-Nahry Museum. Inside, two -stage stands increase the energy of the supporters and ensure that most fans are almost the action. Premium areas such as The Field VIP offer an exclusive atmosphere with a gourmet dishes, access to the tunnel of the players and first -class seats with which the guests can enjoy the match day in comfort and style.

The Al-Nahry Stadium will anchor a transformative sports city master plan that includes a university, a hospital and a mosque that improves the tourism portfolio of Giza and Cairo. With multifunctional rooms in which national events and concerts can be organized, the stadium is intended to become a dynamic, year -round place that exceeds football and promotes considerable economic growth in the region by attracting sports fans, tourists and possible goals.
