Gensol secures EPC contract for 275 MW solar PV plant in India

In addition to the EPC contract, Gensol Engineering will provide operation and maintenance services for the large solar PV power plant for three years.

Shilpa Urhekar, CEO, Solar EPC (India) at Gensol Engineering, announced that the EPC contract has been secured through a “reputed” public sector company.

“We started the Calander year 2025 with good success. We have secured a prestigious solar PV project contract from a reputed public sector undertaking in RE Solar Park, Khavda Rann from Kutch, Gujarat. This partnership is of immense value to us and we are grateful for the continued trust shown in us by such a large RE company,” said Urhekar.

PV Tech readers will probably be familiar with Khavda Solar Park, a renewable energy generation facility using hybrid technology with a maximum capacity of 30 GW. The projects providing the capacity will be developed and connected to the Interstate Transmission System over the next three years.

In September, Adani Green Energy signed a 5 GW, 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for the solar PV park.

Adani was the central company behind the development of the Khavda solar project, which is expected to be the “largest” in the world when completed.

In 2024, the company commissioned a 1 GW portion of the site to achieve 30 GW of generation capacity at Khavda over the next five years. Previously, Adani completed a $1.36 billion debt financing deal in 2023 to support the development and construction of 2.1 GW worth of PV plants at the site, expanding the company's construction financing framework at that time $3 billion increased.

The group's chairman, Gautam Adani, was recently indicted in a US federal court for allegedly paying $250 million in bribes to Indian officials to secure solar energy contracts.
