Georgia Power and Smart wires have teamed up to implement the first smartvalve ™ technology in response to the increasing energy requirements of customers in the U -Bahn area of ​​Atlanta. SmartValve is an advanced current flow control technology (APFC), which from this summer ensures the continuous reliable and affordable performance for Georgia Power customers by promising better energy management and improvements when flowing the electricity via the electrical system.

The patented technology of SmartValve was called a game change for the management of electricity. Like a traffic signal for electricity, smartvalve leads the power supply on different paths in real time to reduce the restrictions on the network. This enables Georgia Power to maximize the existing infrastructure and use the most use of existing power lines.

This project represents a significant milestone because Georgia Power's first large-scale provision of this grid improvement with 21 smartvalve modules is installed on two 230,000 volt circuits. These devices make it easier to steer the electricity where it is needed the most, and give houses, companies and industries in one of the fastest growing areas in the country. By activating the “dynamic control” of line flows, this project offers faster installation and greater flexibility to adapt to changes in the energy requirement.
