Marked tomorrow, October 11th World Hydropower Dayan international celebration recognizing the positive impact of sustainable hydropower on people and communities around the world.
Led by the International Hydropower Association (IHA) and supported by a global coalition of developers, operators, manufacturers and industry associations, the day will shine a light on the energy it can harness Ssustainable hydropower.
Hydropower is the oldest form of renewable energy and, alongside other clean energy technologies, continues to play a key role in the world's journey to a net-zero future. By providing stability, flexibility and energy storage, hydropower supports the integration of variable renewable energies such as wind and solar, helping to build resilient and low-carbon energy systems.
Global Hydropower Day is an opportunity to recognize the communities, organizations and individuals working to advance hydropower's contribution to sustainable development and climate action.
