Stephanie Freeman Design is a boutique high-end residential design firm with an architectural focus. We take our work seriously, but strive for a work hard/play hard culture and don't take ourselves too seriously. We're taking the Boston design scene by storm and have several amazing projects in the works for 2025. We are proud to have solid processes and systems in place to prepare you for success, clarity and (hopefully!) enjoyment in this role. We are looking for team members who want to do inspired and challenging work while having fun.
We offer 2 weeks of paid vacation and 3 paid personal/sick days and paid vacation, including the week between Christmas and New Year. 4 days/week in the studio, 1 day remotely.
To ensure a mutual fit, we always start with a 2-week freelance trial phase.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support design projects from kickoff to installation, including (but not limited to): CAD drawings, presentation preparation, procurement and project management.
• Get inspirational images and create mood boards to support the overall design concept
• Research and obtain final materials samples, assemble pallets for design presentations
• Create scaled furniture plans and views in CAD
• Work with suppliers, showrooms and manufacturers to obtain accurate quotes on furniture, fixtures and accessories
• Create detailed proposals in Studio Designer
• Prepare completion plans for paint, lighting, tile and stone, and hardware
• Transition between creative activities and executive tasks
• Occasionally assist with documentation and content creation for IG/Social Media
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field from an accredited school
• Additional professional experience is an advantage; compensation must be adjusted accordingly
• Software knowledge (required): AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel
• Software knowledge (bonus points): Studio Designer, Canva, Asana
• Working knowledge of construction processes and best practices, experience communicating with tradespeople on construction sites
• Reliable car and willing to travel in the Greater Boston area
• Ability and willingness to move small pieces of furniture during installation and transport materials for presentations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
• A sense of aesthetics and details that enhance the overall quality of the design.
