For firefighters and rescue workers, security is more than a priority-is a lifeline, and to support this, the Iaff has taken a critical step to ensure that its members have further access to life-saving training.
The Iaff was maintained by the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) in order to maintain the training of hazmat and an overthrown-wing dream certification in order to ensure that members react effectively to high risk cases.
“The re -loaning of Pro Board is proof of the commitment of the IAFF for high -quality training that meets the requirements of the fire brigade and the needs of our members and the communities that we serve,” said General President Edward Kelly.
The Pro Board is an independent organization that accredited fire and emergency reaction programs to ensure that you meet the work performance of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Receiving Pro Board Reacreditation is proof of the Iaff's commitment to a high -quality training that meets the requirements of the fire brigade and the needs of our members and the municipalities that we serve.

“Our repetition ensures that our members continue to receive an apprenticeship that corresponds to the highest professional standards and enables them to react safely and safely to emergencies,” said the General President for training, education and grants Dr. Joshua Smith.
Every year the Iaff trains more than 7,000 emergency services in Hazmat and limited space rescue and prepares them for challenges such as chemical spills and tensile movements.
The accreditation of the Pro board for hazmat training strengthens the support of the federal government and expands the financing of these important programs.
“It serves as a strong confirmation and shows that the Iaff training corresponds to the highest national standards,” said Jamie Burgess, director of Iaff training and grants. “It assures the federal authorities that their financing is used to provide high -quality, standardized training courses that will benefit firefighters in the USA and Canada.”
According to Burgess, it is also important to emphasize that no IAFFPRO -Kopf -Tax Gells are used to provide IAFF -HAZMAT training classes.
“This initiative is financed by federal grants and contracts, which means that Iaff members and affiliated companies can in most cases access the local or the fire brigade to this critical training in most cases,” he said.
