Job from: Skanska Norway – Executive Vice President of Technology, Innovation and Green Business Development
Order to: Skanska UK – Executive Vice President of Technology, Sustainability and Innovation
Skanska is one of the world's leading project development and construction groups.
Like all major companies around the world, Skanska has set ambitious carbon reduction targets and aims to achieve net zero emissions in the UK by 2045, including across its entire supply chain.
In 2024, Skanska has already achieved a remarkable 58% CO2 reduction since its base year of 2015.
Recently, the company began restructuring its sustainability team to better align it with customer needs and company goals.
Jo Mortensen, a long-standing member of the Skanska team, is making the move across the North Sea, shipping from Norway to the UK.
After holding the position of EVP of Technology, Innovation and Green Business Development at Skanska Norge, he will move to Skanska UK to take up a similar position as EVP of Technology, Sustainability and Innovation.
Jo is one of seven senior executives moving internally as Skanska's leadership team undergoes a restructure.
There he will report to Katrina Dowding, President and CEO of Skanska UK. She says: “I’m really excited for you to join the team Jo, I’m excited about the knowledge and experience you’ll bring.”
In his new role, Jo will be responsible for driving forward Skanska's many sustainability goals in the UK, including the introduction of photovoltaic panels, biomass boilers, water-saving devices and digital monitoring systems into standard construction processes.
Overall, Skanska believes that sustainability is not just an environmental necessity, but an essential part of any sound business model, as it can help promote innovation and growth in the construction industry.
