The best in the nation hosted its third annual Women's Leadership Retreat at Rough Creek Lodge & Resort in Glen Rose, Texas, bringing together nearly 60 women and supporting sponsors from 35 locations in 13 states for three days of growth, connection and celebration under this year's theme, “Lead Out Loud.”
The retreat was designed to help participants capitalize on their strengths and amplify their impact. It included a CliftonStrengths workshop led by coach, speaker and author TyAnn Osborn of Osborn Consulting Group; an industry keynote from Stefanie Couch, founder of Grit Blueprint; and a mix of team building and networking experiences, including a scavenger hunt, live piano duels and a creative Hutbar party.
“This conference was truly encouraging – one of the best I have experienced in a long time,” says Debbie Fuller of PLM Insurance, a returning sponsor.
Miranda Hudson, store manager at Panhandle Lumber and Supply in Bonifay, Florida, was grateful for the opportunity to come together with other female Nation's Best team members to empower each other, share ideas and build a stronger future together.
Now in its third year, the conference continues to grow in both size and impact, reflecting Nation's Best's commitment to advancing women in the lumber and building materials industry – a field traditionally led by men. The program offers women a rare opportunity to step away from their everyday roles, reconnect with their purpose and return to their teams with renewed confidence and clarity.
“Our goal has always been to give women the space to lead with confidence, courage and authenticity,” says Amber Little, chief human resources officer at Nation's Best and founder of the Women's Leadership Retreat. “Lead Out Loud is about embracing your strengths, using your voice and recognizing that leadership isn't a title, it's the way you carry yourself. When women rise, the entire organization rises with them.”
Next, Nation's Best will build on this year's momentum with mentoring, networking and leadership development programs aimed at empowering the next generation of confident, connected female leaders.
“Supporting this initiative is not only the right decision, but also smart business,” said Chris Miller, CEO of Nation's Best. “The energy, innovation and leadership our women bring from this retreat directly strengthens our businesses, our teams and our culture. We are proud to invest in their growth and continue to build an organization where everyone has the opportunity to lead and succeed.”
