The PolyPlastics Group, an expert in technical thermoplasty, has developed a solution that converts high -performance resins into fine powder.
Called Durast® powder technologyThis solution can transform very strong plastics that can normally not be processed into powder Individual powder forms (smooth, round or fiber) therefore you work in various additive manufacturing processes.
According to the company, high -performance resins such as liquid crystal polymer (LCP) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) were contrasted with conventional grinding methods such as particle agglomeration and reduced fluid.
Use of the proprietary technology of polyplastic, durast® Powder reaches even powderization with an average particle size of approximately 1 ~ 100 μm for LCP. This powder has excellent powder river ability and mixing disposability, which contributes to process stability and improved quality.
When looking at the thermal and mechanical properties of this resin and the selection of powder methods, which are suitable, the technology generates powder with particle sizes in the range from 20 μm to 100 μm with a narrow particle size distribution.
Durast® Powder is suitable for additive manufacture and internal powder and enables the production of complex shapes and high -promoting parts. In addition, it is expected to be used as a matrix resin for thermoplasty reinforced with carbon fibers and as an organic filler or reinforcement material.
In 2022, the company officially made their debut in the additive manufacturing industry when 3D printing technology (material extrusion or Mex) developed for its Duracon® Pom Resin.
