Power producing home designs: Haus W
The 'House W' was designed by Florian Busch Architects as a simple, modern apartment that focuses on simple everyday life with sustainability attributes in the spotlight. The house is located in Nakafurano, Hokkaido, Japan and is located at the meeting of an old farm stable, which is surrounded by peasant fields that influence the profile and shape of the design of the structure. The house is partly covered with a solar skin that enables it to call up with a battery setup and is reported by the architects to produce twice as much energy as the structure uses.

The 'House W' is mainly made of wood with a total of 1,754 square meters of living space, which are distributed over two rivers with plenty of natural light by consistently sufficient windows.
